Original Mixed Media Art
Dreamlike Figurative Painting
Dreamlike Figurative Painting
An original painting made to hold feeling, texture, and quiet visual intrigue.
A More Personal Way to Collect Art
Each piece begins with a figurative idea and develops through layers of fabric, acrylic, pastel, and found materials. The surfaces invite the eye to move slowly, revealing marks, fragments, and subtle shifts in colour. No two paintings follow the same path, so every artwork carries its own balance of softness, structure, and surprise.
I create these works for spaces that benefit from a thoughtful focal point rather than a predictable statement. The finished painting has a tactile quality that changes with the light and rewards repeated viewing. Whether chosen for its mood, palette, or figure, it offers a personal connection that can deepen over time.

Art from feeling
I am Karen Arthurs, a mixed media artist creating ethereal, dreamy figures surrounded by flowers and the quiet beauty of nature. I work with acrylics, oils, pastels, fabric, vintage textiles, and unexpected materials to build richly textured pieces with a personal, expressive character. My art is for collectors and art lovers drawn to imaginative portraits, feminine energy, and work that invites a closer look. Each piece grows through experimentation, emotion, and my own distinctive visual language.
